Zinc Sulphate

Method of Application

Soil Application :
In normal soil use (21%) O.C.I. Zinc Sulphate @ of 25 Kg per hectare but in alkaline soil quantity of zinc sulphate should be increased up to 50 Kg per hectare. Full dose of zinc sulphate should be applied along with basal dose of NPK at the time of sowing. Basal application of zinc sulphate is much more effective than latter application.
Folier Application :
Zinc sulphate solution can be sprayed on plant leaves failing to basal application. For foliar spray 5 kg O.C.I. zinc sulphate (21%) with 2.5 Kg hydrated lime should be dissolved in 800-1000 litre of water. The solution is ready for spray on the leaves, for one hectare. It should be repeated twice or thrice as per crop requirement.
Root dip Application :
In horticulture fruit crops at the time of prooning, the injured portion of the plant should be dressed with zinc sulphate plus lime suspension. Thus plants absorb zinc from dressing solution.
